AACCUP evaluates USeP BS Math, Statistics programs

Dr. Manuel T. Corpus, AACCUP President and Overall Coordinator, introduces the panel of accreditors

The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) welcomed representatives from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP) on May 22, 2018 at the Obrero Campus Social Hall.

The Accreditation Visit was conducted for the Level III, Phase 2 evaluation of Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Bachelor of Science in Statistics.

Among the AACCUP accreditors present were Dr. Manuel T. Corpus, AACCUP President and Overall Coordinator; Dr. Edgardo Santos, Mathematics Team Leader; and Dr. Isidro Duran, Statistics Team Leader.

Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva, Vice President for Academic Affairs, represented Dr. Lourdes C. Generalao, USeP President, in the opening program.

“This year, the University is keen to have more of its programs accredited. More than building our status as a premier research University in the ASEAN, we do this because we maintain a high level of quality standards. In order to provide our students with the best educational experience, it is just necessary that we subject our programs to constant improvement and evaluation,” she said.

Last April 10-12, AACCUP also visited USeP to evaluate the following programs: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Hospitality Management, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science (MS) in Environment and Resource Management, BS in Computer, BS in Information Technology, MS in Library, BS in Economics, MS in Econometrics, and MS in Economics.

In 2016, USeP was ranked 6th among state universities and colleges (SUCs) with the most number of accredited programs. This recognition reflects the efforts of the University Program Heads, Deans of colleges, and accreditation team in making sure that USeP’s programs meet the highest standards.
