USeP North, South clusters triumphant in PASUC XI Festival


Competing against State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Region XI, the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) North and South clusters emerged as top placers in the Regional Philippine Association of SUCs (PASUC) Culture and the Arts Forum and Festival 2018.

The USeP North cluster, composed of the USeP Tagum-Mabini and Bislig campuses, placed 2nd, while the South cluster, composed of participants from the Obrero and Mintal Campuses, placed 3rd in the overall ranking. USeP, in partnership with the Province of Davao del Norte, served as the host institution for the Regional PASUC Festival held on October 29-30, 2018 at the RDR Gym, Davao del Norte Sports Complex in Tagum City.

USeP also bagged awards in the following competitions: Standard Choir, Short and Sweet Play (Dialogue), Radio Drama, Charcoal Rendering, Poster Making, Painting, Pencil Drawing, Photography, Vocal Solo (Kundiman), Instrumental Solo (Banduria, Violin, and Classical Guitar), Pop Solo, Vocal Duet, Folk Dance, Live Band, Street Dance, and Indigenous Dance.

Eujay Regner and Rhesam Mae Quindoy from USeP-Obrero were crowned Mr. and Ms. PASUC XI 2018, while Amethyst Briones and Jaymes Hebron from USeP-Tagum-Mabini placed 1st runner-up and 3rd runner-up, respectively. Regner and Quindoy will represent Region XI (Davao Region) in the National PASUC Culture and the Arts Forum and Festival in November 2018.

Other participating SUCs from Region XI include Compostela Valley State College (CVSC), Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology (DOSCST), Southern Philippines Agribusiness and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST). DNSC was hailed the overall champion.
