GOAT PROJECT MEETING WITH DAVAO DEL SUR GOVERNOR


The regional project management team of the Farmer Livestock School on Goat Enterprise Management (FLS-GEM) meets with Governor Douglas RA. Cagas of Davao del Sur at the Provincial Capitol, Davao del Sur on August 22, 2019.
Present during the courtesy meeting with the governor are: Dr. Mervin Gascon, Regional Coordinator of FLS-GEM XI and Extension Director of the University of Southeastern Philippines; Mr. Jonash Bunda, Project Staff of FLS-GEM and Faculty, USeP; Ms. Hannah Camille Manlod, Science Aide; Dr. Russel Celis, Provincial Veterinarian of Davao del Sur and Dr. Catherine Resurreccion, Veterinarian III.
Discussed during the meeting are the details of the goat project dubbed as FLS-GEM, benefits of the project to farmer-adopters and the technology packages available for smallhold farmers to help them sustainably increase their knowledge and productivity.
Governor Cagas was proud and happy to receive the FLS-GEM team in his office and he committed to support the project in various ways that he can to maximize the incoming partnership with the University of Southeastern Philippines, Department of Agriculture RFO XI and his province.
The goal of FLS-GEM is to improve the general productivity of smallhold goat farmers and improve their wellbeing and overall satisfaction on their enhanced capabilities and increased income (Hannah Camille Manlod).
