USeP Colleges scheduled for AACCUP Survey Visit


“In order to provide our students with the best services, it is important that the University will engage in these accreditations…” the commitment by President Lourdes Generalao as delivered by Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr., Vice President for Quality Assurance during the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACUP) Survey Visit.

 

The AACUP conducts a Survey Visit for the different programs and different levels under the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences (CARS), College of Applied Economics (CAEc), College of Business Administration (CBA), College of Engineering (CoE), and College of Development Management (CDM) of the University of Southeastern Philippines. The ACCUP accreditors surveyed 10 programs from Obrero Campus, four (4) from Mintal Campus and two (2) from Tagum-Mabini Campus or a total of 16 programs.

The visit runs from September 30-October 3, 2019. The said activity aims to assess and upgrade the educational quality of higher education institutions and programs as well as means of assuring and improving the quality of education of the university.

The officials of the university, deans, program heads, AACCUP team leaders and accreditors, faculty members, staff and students were at attendance during the opening program of this 4-day visit at the University Social Hall, Obrero Campus.

Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, warmly welcomed the guests. She assured the university community and the guests that the university is determined to maintain the quality of the academic services being provided. She also stressed that the university is committed to regularly undergo the accreditation process no matter how challenging the processes are.

I believe that our efforts will not be put to waste”, she added.

Dr. Rebecca S. Sanchez, the overall coordinator of AACUP, also gave a message. She highlighted the efforts of USeP in pursuing quality and high standard services and systems.

“In the advent of internalization or globalization, it is proper that all State Universities and Colleges (SUC’s) including USeP will be maintaining or sustaining quality in higher education through accreditations…We need to survive if not excel in this very highly competitive world in the educational system, not only in the Philippines but also of the world.”
