USeP Holds English Language and Philippine Culture Summer Camp 2019


The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) with partner schools from Tan Trao University (TTrU) in Vietnam and Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat (SNR) in Thailand participated in a three-week English Language and Philippine Culture Summer Camp on June 27-July 13, 2019 in USeP Obrero, Davao City, Philippines.

The summer camp was spearheaded by the Office of Public and International Affairs (OPIA) in collaboration with the three colleges, namely: College of Teacher Education in Technology (CTET) of USeP Tagum-Mabini Campus, and College of Education (CEd), and College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of USeP Obrero. The camp was participated in by fifteen (15) secondary students with one (1) teacher from Vietnam and three (3) secondary students with four (4) teachers from Thailand.

The Opening Ceremony was held in the morning of June 27, 2019 then the delegates had their campus tour at USeP Obrero in the afternoon on the same day. On June 28, the delegates went to Tagum Unit of USeP Tagum-Mabini Campus and  had the chance to meet and greet with the City Mayor Hon. Allan Rellon. In the three-week summer camp, the student-delegates had their language classes in the morning under the tutelage of Mr. Jose Tan Jr., Dr. Velma Labad and Mr. Virgel Torremocha while the teacher-delegates had their lessons on English as Medium of Instruction under the tutelage of Asst. Prof. Donna  Magallanes, Asso. Prof. Rioliza Molina and Asst. Prof. Lilibeth Cenojas. In the afternoon of the three-week summer camp, the delegates had activities relating to learning the Philippine culture through songs, dances, games, visits to museums and historical sites in Davao City, among others.   (LACenojas)
