The Local Council and the Association of Economics Students (AECONS) hosted the 2nd Davao Federation of Economic Societies (DAFECOS) celebration lOctober 2-3, 2004. The economic organizations from the Ateneo de Davao University, University of Mindanao , Holy Cross of Davao College, USEP Mintal and the graduate school students of SAEC participated the event. |
The SAEC placed 5th overall in the USEP OClympics intramurals competition last Dec. 13 to 16, 2005 . Some accomplishments included being 3rd overall in the Literary Competition and winning the championship in the basketball competition ( women division). |
Five students attended the 2nd Mindanao Economics Student Convention (MECS) in Cagayan de Oro City last February 10 to 12, 2005 . The event was organized by the Economics Society of Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan. |
Ms. Maharlika Ma. Tarona, a Third year BS Economics student was judged one of the ten youth ambassadors of RODY PROJECT of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. Awarding was done during the Araw ng Dabaw celebration. On top of a trophy, a medal, and a chance to act as youth ambassadors of Davao City , awardees received PhP 20,000.00 each.
Ms. Tarona was also chosen by the Commission on Population Region XI, to be the Core member of the Youth for Choice of Davao City. She and Kathleen Tabilo, a second year BS Economics student, together with two other students from CAS, attended the 2nd Youth for Choice Camp: Advocacy and Skills Training at Tanay, Rizal on May 15-22, 2005.

Twenty-five (25) second year and third year BS Economics students went on a five-day training on the business/management package WIWAG, at the Davao Medical Foundation on April 25-29, 2005 . The affair was sponsored by HOLCIM, Philippines located at Ilang, Davao City , in coordination with Education for Youth Enterprise Foundation Inc (EYE). |
