About IES

IES stands for Instructor's Evaluation System. The evaluation steps and materials are being handed by the QCE the respective state universities around the country. The main point of this evaluation is to know the performance of the instructors under a department in the university.

In this evaluation, the university uses the standard form for evaluating instructors of the state universities which is provided by Qualitative Contribution Evaluation(QCE). This evaluation form is composed of three parts:

  • Evaluator Information and Evaluated Instructor
  • Direction Section
  • Evaluation Body Proper

  •       In the first part of the evaluation form; the faculty rated, college/department, section/discipline, present rank, semester, year and the type or sector of respondents are the entries that is needed for the evaluator to fill in.

In the next portion of the form the direction is given to guide the evaluators what to do and below the direction is the scaling for the rate. In the scaling section on the direction, it has three portions, the numerical rating, description rating and the qualitative description.

The body or the evaluation section of the form is broken down into four categories which have five close questions each. Each category in this section is composed of twenty-five points in total. The first one is the commitment which evaluates how the instructor is committed to teaching. The second one is the knowledge of the subject matter. In this part, the instructor is evaluated on how knowledgeable he/she is in the subject he/she is teaching. The third evaluation is about how the instructor is teaching the students to be independent in learning with regards to the subject. And the fourth and last part evaluation is all about the way the instructor manages the learning of the students, again with regards to the subject. With every end of these four parts of the evaluation body proper there is a subtotal and at the end of the evaluation body proper of the form the grand total is situated.

After evaluation, the reports or results will be forwarded to the University-HRD.
