ABOUT US

The College of Education of the University of Southeastern Philippines is one of the recognized Center of Excellence by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). As a department that advocates for holistic human development, it executes its mandates through the Mindanao Center for Education Research, Training, and Innovation (MCERTI), by providing research opportunities to students in the form of dissemination of research findings through publications, workshops, conferences, and seminars. Also, with the faculty's outstanding track records, MCERTI commits to provide extension services; and other research needs, not only to other units/colleges in the university, but also to other agencies/institutions in Mindanao, public and private. Further, the College is a service provider of the University and the Teaching Excellence Program is a project coordinated and initiated with the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD) for the faculty especially the newly-hired who are non-education professionals.

Curriculum; pedagogy and instruction; school governance; educational assessments; and teacher training services.

RESEARCH CENTER THRUST:

1. Curriculum Studies -

Conduct research on the Basic Education Curriculum and Higher Education Curriculum, its modalities and approaches that can best enhance the attainment of student learning outcomes.

2. Pedagogy and Innovations

Develop educational technologies, training programs, assessment tools for cognitive and non-cognitive outcomes and novel teaching approaches for both young and adult learners.

3. School Governance and Educational Assessments -

Provide researchers, educational institutions, government agencies data and research insights and publications that will assist in research, administrative decision making, program development and policy formulation.

4. Teacher Training and Extension -

Provide technical and methodological expertise in educational measurement, evaluation and policy analysis thru the publication of monographs, conduct of webinars.

CED TVET Symposium

The College of Education department spearheaded a Technical and Vocational Education symposium last May 13, 2023 to capacitate the BTVTED students with the right skills and knowledge about the recent agenda and directions of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). In the said event, the faculty and students were informed on the new technologies and related sciences as well as on the acquisition of practical skills related the program.

 
 

TVET SYMPOSIUM:
