The lecture was delivered by \ud835\udde3\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddf3. \ud835\uddec\ud835\ude03\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf2 \ud835\udded\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf4\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddff\ud835\ude00, who shared the foundation\u2019s programs and ongoing efforts to support schools and learners in the Philippines. She was accompanied by \ud835\udde0\ud835\uddff. \ud835\uddd9\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude05 \ud835\udde6\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddfc, School Principal of R.C. Quimpo Elementary School.<\/p>\n
Opening remarks were delivered by\ud835\uddd7\ud835\uddff. \ud835\udde5\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfe\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf9 \ud835\uddd7. \ud835\uddd4\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddee\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddee, who welcomed the participants and underscored the importance of international partnerships in enhancing teacher education and expanding learning opportunities for students.<\/p>\n
During the lecture, Prof. Zeegers presented AFFLIP\u2019s mission, programs, and key initiatives that supported under-resourced schools in the Philippines. These included the provision of learning facilities and resources, professional development programs for teachers and school administrators, and initiatives that promoted global awareness through collaboration between partner schools in the Philippines and South Australia. The foundation also supported school communities in addressing student hunger, illness, infections, and malnutrition, while assisting learners from economically disadvantaged families in accessing both formal and extracurricular education opportunities.<\/p>\n
AFFLIP, a voluntary non-government and non-profit organization based in South Australia, partnered with several public elementary schools in the Talomo District of Davao City, benefiting thousands of learners through its education and community-based programs.<\/p>\n
The lecture concluded with an open forum where faculty members explored potential areas for collaboration and discussed the revitalization of the partnership between the College of Education and AFFLIP, which was first established in 2017. The activity was attended by College of Education faculty as part of the University\u2019s continuing efforts to strengthen global engagement and promote inclusive and transformative education.<\/p>\n
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the activity supported SDG 4: Quality Education by advancing inclusive, equitable, and quality learning through teacher development and resource support, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening international collaboration between educational institutions and organizations.<\/p>\n
