The DIT curriculum was eventually revised in 1986 giving way to the offering of the Diploma of Technology, a three-year technical program. The Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIT) was subsequently offered in the same year.<\/p>\n<p>In 1990, the college began attuning its program offerings to meet manpower demands of current and emerging occupations at the technical and professional levels. The Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIT) curriculum was revised to include two options namely: technology teaching and industrial technology. The program made the College to its present position of leadership and influence in technology education in the region.<\/p>\n<p>To meet technological advancement that continuously demand for highly qualified technicians and professionals, the College further honed its capability by offering the Master of Technology in 1995. This was followed by the offering of the Master of Industrial Technology through the Mindanao Advanced Education Project (MAEP) in 1997. In the same year, the Bachelor in Computer Technology was offered to cater to the demands of infotech-related occupations.<\/p>\n<p>To meet the demands of professionals, technologists and instructors of vocational and technology programs, the offering of Master of Vocational Educational was approved by the BOR of this University in June 1999. The College of Technology is located at Obrero Campus, Davao City, occupying a building distinct and separate from the other academic units.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-style: inherit;\"><b>The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BS IndTech) <\/b>of the College of Technology (CT), formerly known as Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIT), has been offered since 1986 through the adoption of the DO 17 series of 1986, an amendment to MECS Order No. 38, series of 1982. The offering of the program underscores the offering of six (6) different fields of specialization, to wit: Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology, Automotive Technology, Civil Construction Technology, Mechanical Technology, and Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-style: inherit;\">In August of 2017, the program has been frozen as the University prioritized programs with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order (CMO). The BS IndTech Program, however, was re-offered in 2021 just months before the CHED issued the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to four (4) different fields, namely: Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, Automotive Technology, and Mechanical Technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-style: inherit;\">Further, the BS IndTech program has strengthened the ties of the University as it continually forges a partnership with the industries. These partnerships have impacted the quality learning of the students through multidisciplinary knowledge and skills which are acquired through relevant training under the field of specialization. As a result, graduates of the program are globally competitive and have been making their name in the field.<\/span><span style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-style: inherit;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-style: inherit;\">To help the University in attaining its vision to become a premier research University in the ASEAN, the BS IndTech Program was designed to produce quality research. The unique type of research produced by the faculty, staff, and students under the Program, has created a big impact in the research area. The Program was able to produce numerous patents and utility models, not to mention those that were already filed. It is also noteworthy that the program faculty, staff, and students are now indulging in social research, apart from developmental research, which the Program usually produced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-style: inherit;\">To comply with the national standards, the BS IndTech Program underwent several accreditation and audits including the International Standards Organization (ISO) audit which is conducted twice a year, and the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. accreditation. The program has passed the Level I AACCUP Accreditation on September 1, 2005. In August 2018, it passed the Level II Accreditation- qualifying the program for Level III on September 1, 2012. Level III Re-accredited status has been granted to the program and Level IV Phase 1 in 2013 and 2019, respectively.
