Twenty years ago, the people behind the newly established but modest-sized\u00a0 College of Information and Computing could not probably have the slightest idea of how integral their part would be in this information revolution. As Steve Jobs once said, \u201cyou can only connect the dots looking backward\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The CIC endeavors to look both ways. Only by looking back do we realize how far we have gone, but only by looking forward do we not rest on our laurels and settle for anything less.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">As we continually teach the young minds of today the algorithmic method of thinking, we follow the same scientific and methodical approach in ensuring that ours is an environment worthy of being called a premiere academic institution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">At the CIC, success is viewed not just by having outstanding faculty members, a robust curriculum, a vibrant research community, nor state-of-the-art facilities. Consequently, it grew so smoothly because of the <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">support given by the neighboring state universities and colleges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The College of Information currently offers a\u00a0<strong>Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT)<\/strong>, a <span style=\"font-style: inherit;\"><strong>Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS)<\/strong>, and a <strong>Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS)<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">as undergraduate programs. Aside from that, CIC\u00a0 also offers <strong>Master in Information Technology (MIT)<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\"><strong>Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS),<\/strong> and <strong>Doctor in Information Technology (DIT)<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">as graduate programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Students in the BS in Information Technology program can choose between Business Technology <span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Management and Information Security as specialization tracks and Data Science for the BS in Computer\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Science program. Graduates of the BLIS program are being prepared to apply information technology to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">basic library operations and functions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The CIC actively participates in research and extension activities. CIC aligns its research\u00a0<span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">activities with the university\u2019s RDE agenda. Discoveries acquired through research will be disseminated <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">to the communities through extension activities. CIC also conducts extension activities focused on ICT-related<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">\u00a0livelihood programs acquired through research.
