From indigenous stories to global recognition, it often represents a triumph of cultural preservation and a celebration of diversity. It showcases the power of storytelling to connect people across cultures and generations, and it can inspire others to share their commitments and advocacies with the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Asst. Prof. Elizabeth Joy Serrano-Quijano, a Blaan-Ibaloy writer from Matanao, Davao del Sur, is an Assistant Professor at Southern Philippines Agribusiness and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology and the Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Development Communication Program. Her powerful stories explore the heart of Indigenous experiences, environmental issues, and women’s and children’s lives.<\/div>\n

Her work has been featured in different publications like World Literature Today and Words Without Borders, UP Mindanao Banwa Journal, LIT, Anomaly, Shenandoah Literary Magazine, Ubod Journal, Ulirat: Best Contemporary Stories in Translation from the Philippines, Cultural Center of the Philippines\u2019 Ani 41: Lakbay, showcasing her talent on a global stage. As a mother and wife, she brings a unique perspective to her writing, often exploring family, community, and resilience themes.<\/div>\n
A passionate advocate for her people, Asst.
