ILCA’s journey towards promoting cultural exchange and collaboration between nations is making remarkable progress! The idea of partnering with the Confucius Institute of Ateneo de Davao (CI-AdDU) began over a friendly chat and Chinese tea. It is thrilling to announce that Mandarin language courses will be strengthened and integrated across all foreign language programs at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP).<\/p>\n

In a recent meeting, CI-AdDu and USeP ILCA discussed a possible partnership to enrich the foreign language program at the University by introducing the Mandarin language to the USeP community. This initiative underscores the institute’s commitment to enhancing linguistic diversity and promoting cross-cultural understanding within and across the University community.<\/p>\n

This collaboration goes beyond language education. With the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the Chinese partners will deeply engage with Mindanao’s rich culture- exploring local languages, diverse traditions, and indigenous communities. The goal is to cultivate mutual respect and understanding among different groups.<\/p>\n

CI Director Shenglin Zhang also mentioned exciting plans for future exchange programs, promising dynamic interactions in language, culture, and the arts. These initiatives will strengthen the ties between the institutes and provide enriching educational experiences for everyone involved.<\/p>\n

Led by the ILCA Head, Mr. Francis N. Reginio, together with Dr. Marnie Grace I. Sonico, Dean of CAS; Associate Dean Joy R. Risonar, and dedicated interns Andrea Izabel Tablizo, Hyacinth Abelgas, and Rhea Lhyne Aguillon; ILCA is actively preparing to embrace new international opportunities. This initiative represents a significant step towards fostering diversity and promoting global understanding through education, inspiring us to embrace differences and collaboration towards community transformation within ASEAN and on a broader international scale.<\/p>\n
