[\ud835\udc08\ud835\udc13\u2019\ud835\udc12 \ud835\udc07\ud835\udc04\ud835\udc11\ud835\udc04] The Institute of Languages and Creative Arts (ILCA) is glad to announce the release of the book project under the Mindanao Center for Policy Studies (MCPS) of the College of Development and Management (CDM) titled “Indigenous Knowledge Systems and PracticesI on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management of Selected IP Groups in the Davao Region” at the 1st TINGUG International Conference on October 24-25, 2024.<\/p>\n

This publication highlights the valuable contributions of Indigenous peoples in the Davao Region, Philippines, towards disaster management, particularly in the face of climate change. Sponsored by a grant from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), this research documents the knowledge of eight Indigenous groups gathered between August 2021 and July 2022.<\/p>\n

With the support of the eight ICCs\/IPs in the Davao Region and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Region XI, together with the reviews and expertise of our international partners Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rodney C. Jubilado of the University of Hawaii \u2013 Hilo and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aurelio S. Agcaoili of the University of Hawaii \u2013 Manoa, and the support of USeP officials, the project is now a success!<\/p>\n
