The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) School of Medicine (SoM) actively advances its academic excellence through participation in impactful faculty development initiatives. On November 20-21, 2024, Dr. Victoria P. Guillano, Dean of the School of Medicine; Dr. Franklin B. Guillano, Faculty Development Head; and Dr. Ferguz Bogdan R. Alastra, Research Head, attended the Faculty Development Program on Translating Curriculum Plan into Course Designs in Medical Education hosted by the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges (APMC) at the Bayview Park Hotel Manila.

The program, organized by APMC, emphasized the importance of aligning curriculum goals with effective course designs to enhance competency-based learning. It equipped participants with strategies to create measurable learning outcomes, integrate innovative teaching methods, and address evolving challenges in medical education. These insights are essential for cultivating analytical thinking and preparing students for dynamic healthcare environments.

Through this engagement, the USeP School of Medicine reaffirms its commitment to delivering quality medical education. The knowledge gained will help improve course structures, optimize teaching practices, and ensure that the institution produces skilled, compassionate medical professionals ready to meet the demands of the field.
