The School of Applied Economics (SAEc), in collaboration with the Mindanao Economic Society, Inc. (MESI) and the Mindanao Economic and Econometric Association, Inc. (MEEAI), is inviting students and faculty members to the 2018 Mindanao Economic Convention on December 5, 2018, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM at the Social Hall, USeP Obrero campus.
The Convention aims to assist the government and the private sector/non-government organizations in a productive discourse of current issues confronting the Philippine economy, particularly the Mindanao regional economies.
Specifically, the convention will provide a forum to discuss the following: (a) assessment of the first two (2) years of implementation of the current Philippine Development Plan, 2017-2022; (b) updates on the Mindanao Peace and Development Framework Plan 2011-2030; (c) status of the Metro Davao Urban Master Plan Project; and (d) various economics and related research outputs within the four (4) thematic areas of: (i) agriculture and agribusiness economics; (ii) development economics and planning; (iii) environment and natural resource economics; and (iv) econometric studies.
Professionals of Economics and other related fields are also invited to participate.
