CHED orients USeP officials on COPC


The USeP’s Curriculum and Instruction Office (CIO) in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education Region XI hosted the Certificate of Program Compliance Orientation and Self Awareness at the College of Education Training Hall last February 10, 2020.

The COPC is given to specific degree programs that are offered by State Universities and Colleges/Local Universities and Colleges certifying that they have fully complied with the policies, standards and guidelines of CHED.

USeP College Deans, quality assurance heads and program heads participated in the orientation where CHED officials served as speakers and mentors of the activity. CHED officials who were present during the event were the following: Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, Regional Director of CHED Region XI; Dr. Luis D. Perez, Chief Education Program Specialist of Technical Division; Dr. Cesar A. Adegue IV, Education Supervisor II; Dr. Evelyn S. Ecle, Education Supervisor II; Dr. Liza C. Suan, Education Supervisor II; Engr. Maria Christina B. Condez, Education Supervisor II; Engr. Rodrigo S. Pangantihon Jr., Education Supervisor II; Mr. Bernardo Luis R. Alejandro Jr., Education Supervisor II; Ms. Lourdes D. Cesar, Education Supervisor II and Mr. Christopher Pio O. Pulido, Education Supervisor II.

The activity aims to encourage college deans and program heads of the University to focus on promoting quality education in the University which is also the main goal of CHED. Important procedures and requirements for the application of COPC were discussed during the orientation. The participants were also divided by area of specialization and received mentoring from their respective counterpart CHED Supervisor where they discussed important matters regarding COPC.

Dr. Lourdes C. Generalao, University President; Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr., VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Danilo C. Galarion, Director of the Curriculum and Instruction Office (CIO), Dr. Tamara Cher R. Mercado, VP for Planning and Quality Assurance and Dr. Henry C. Encabo, Director of the Quality Assurance Division were also present during said activity.

During her inspirational message, Dr. Generalao stressed the importance of standardizing academic programs to offer quality education and a better learning environment and institutional services to the University’s stakeholders. “I am with great joy to see that we are clinging towards progress,” she said as she expressed her gratitude to all the speakers and participants of the activity.
