USeP preps for Philippine Quality Award

The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) is committed to quality and excellence. As part of that commitment, the University President, through the Office of the Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance (OVPPQua) and the Quality Assurance Division (QAD), held a three-day Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Orientation and Gap Analysis on January 23 – 25, 2023 at The Ritz Hotel, Garden Oases in Davao City. The activity kickstarts USeP’s preparation to compete for the Philippine Quality Award.

The Philippine Quality Award is a national program that recognizes and celebrates performance excellence among organizations in the country. It is the Philippine equivalent of the prestigious Baldrige Performance Excellence Program in the U.S. and other National Quality Awards worldwide. The award is considered the most prestigious recognition given by the Office of the President of the Philippines to organizations that have demonstrated excellence in quality management.

The three-day activity was designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the PQA to members of the USeP community. Engineer Angelica C. Fraginal of ACF Consultancy and Training Services served as the resource speaker. She also facilitated a series of workshops and discussions to provide an in-depth understanding of relevant categories based on the essential or identified Education Criteria for Performance Excellence and application Guidelines of the Philippine Quality Award. This activity is the first of many steps towards achieving the award.
