USeP readies extensionists for change, knowledge and tech transfer to communities


True to its vision of becoming a catalyst of transformation for communities in the ASEAN and beyond, the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) through its Extension Division, an arm of the Office of the Vice President for Research, Development and Extension (OVPRDE), conducted Capability Building on the Dissemination of Knowledge and Technology Transferred through Extension and Training on Quantifying Change on February 24, 2023, at SEDA Hotel, Davao City.

Despite the event falling on a moved holiday, EDSA Revolution Anniversary, the training pushed through with the attendance of USeP Extension heads, program and project leaders, and University personnel from all campuses and units led by Extension Director, Dr. Roby V. Pagong, and VPRDE, Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva.

Dr. Villanueva opened the said training stating that these types of activities are essential in the realization of the USeP’s vision of transforming communities through research and extension activities while Dr. Pagong delivered the rationale of the training.

Ms. Vina Araneta- Pilapil, News Head of the People’s Television Network (PTV)- Davao Mindanao Hub and a USeP alumna, served as the resource speaker for the topic, “Dissemination of Knowledge and Technology Transferred through Extension”, and Dr. Velouna R. Perez, Deputy Director of the USeP Continuing Education Center (CEC), talked about “Quantifying Change Brought by Extension Program”.
