The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) hosted the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) 30th Anniversary and 4th Higher Education Week Davao Region Kick-off Ceremony on May 10, 2024.

The festive celebration kicked off with an early morning unity walk parade around USeP Obrero campus field. This was followed by the 𝘗𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘕𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘯 themed opening program at the University Gymnasium and Cultural Center.

USeP President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr. welcomed the CHED RO XI personnel and the delegates of the various participating Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) from the Davao Region. He congratulated CHED for the milestone reflective of its enduring dedication as a leader of the nation’s higher education sector that has cultivated vibrant academic community, research and innovation, and quality higher education programs, among other significant accomplishments in the three decades.

In his video message, CHED Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III encouraged participation to the upcoming National Higher Education Day Summit wherein he will talk about the State of Philippine Higher Education. Also among the program highlights was the declaration of the opening of the 4th Higher Education Week with the theme “𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯” by CHED RO XI Director Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo.

Adding fun to the program were the yells and cheers of the delegates as they proudly represent their respective schools, and the salu-salo that capped the successful activity.

USeP is pleased to have shared its home in this meaningful partnership with CHED RO XI.
