University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) has been one of the stakeholders and beneficiaries of the Philippine Earth Data Resource and Observation (PEDRO) Center being implemented by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

USeP’s President, Dr. Lourdes C. Generalao together with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva and the Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr. attended the Inauguration of PEDRO Davao Ground Receiving Station held at the Davao Ground Receiving Station, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Davao Radio Transmitter Facility, Buhangin, Davao City on November 8, 2019

PEDRO Center includes a satellite Ground Receiving Station (GRS), which is used to securely receive, process, and distribute satellite images and other space borne data.

With the objective of further expanding the capacity to provide relevant geospatial data and information, they established a second GRS in Davao City.

This GRS will enable higher throughput data reception from EO satellites and expand the current coverage for command, control and downloading of data.
