Davao City gov’t- PEACE 911 recognizes USeP’s peacebuilding contribution in the region


The City Government of Davao- PEACE 911 awarded the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) with the Certificate of Recognition for its invaluable support and contribution to the peacebuilding efforts of the city during the PEACE 911 Stakeholders Recognition at the Royal Mandaya Hotel, Davao City, on May 8, 2023.

USeP has significantly contributed to the peacebuilding endeavors of the city by taking the lead in the establishment of the USeP-Malabog Extension Campus (MEC) in the Paquibato District, which allows conflict transformation by offering higher education opportunities to indigenous peoples in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).

University President, Dr. Lourdes C. Generalao, and Institutional Planning Division Director, Dr. Daisy T. Besing, received the said award in behalf of the University.

PEACE 911 is a comprehensive peace-building and development initiative of the city government launched in 2018 under the leadership of former Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte for Paquibato District. Its main thrusts are peace economy and strengthening people’s organization, good governance and the rule of law, identity, healing, strengthening of people’s organizations, and ancestral domain.
