USeP PAD trains University webpage handlers on website management


The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), through the Public Affairs Division (PAD), organized a training-workshop on university webpage management for University Offices webpage handlers. The workshop, held on July 25-26, 2023, at the USeP Obrero Campus in Davao City, aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage and publish content on their respective webpages, ultimately enhancing the University’s online presence and branding.

During the first day of the training-workshop, Dr. Tamara Cher R. Mercado, Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance (VPPQuA), delivered an inspiring message expressing gratitude to PAD for initiating an invaluable training opportunity. She emphasized the significance of the training in elevating the University’s image and brand. Dr. Mercado, who had previous experience as the first programmer to deploy the University website in 2001, highlighted the importance of updated tools for website management.

On the second day, Dr. Maria Luisa B. Faunillan, Vice President for Administration, extended her warm welcome to the participants and emphasized the shared vision of the University in enhancing the digital landscape as a communication platform to disseminate accurate and reliable information. She also expressed her gratitude to the PAD team for organizing the activity.

Before the commencement of the workshop, Mr. Rodgieb Fritz E. Barnuevo, Systems and Data Management Division (SDMD) Programmer, responsible for the back-end works of the University website, was introduced to the participants. He briefly described his role in maintaining the University website.

Dr. Rosfe Corlae D. Badoy, PAD Director, emphasized the significance and potential impact of the training on the participants’ respective offices- encouraging them to maximize the outcomes and benefits of the activity.

Ms. Virgithe Angelique C. Alfaro, PAD Development Communication Staff and an expert in managing the University webpages, served as the technical resource person and facilitator of the two-day activity. Ms. Alfaro shared her extensive knowledge and experience- guiding the participants through various aspects of the University webpages’ essential functionalities.

Throughout the training-workshop, the participants enhanced the webpages of their respective offices; while the PAD team served as evaluators during the participants’ presentations- providing them valuable feedback and insights.

The Webpage Training-Workshop exemplifies USeP’s commitment to fostering effective communication channels to enhance its image and engagement with the public. The participants are now better equipped to showcase their work and contribute to the University’s overall branding and visibility.
