Newly hired and promoted University personnel take oath of office; Dr. Generalao to community members: love and live by USeP core values

University President Dr. Lourdes C. Generalao led the ceremonial oath-taking of the 54 newly hired and promoted personnel of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) on August 29, 2023, at the University Grandstand, USeP-Obrero Campus, after the conduct of the last flag raising ceremony for the month of August.

Of the 54 newly hired and promoted personnel, 14 are faculty members for the academic units across University campuses; 30 are non-teaching personnel (NTP); and ten (10) are promoted NTPs.

Dr. Generalao personally congratulated and welcomed the new members of the University. “On behalf of these colleagues around (referring to the current University personnel during the flag-raising ceremony) and our beloved students, I really would like to thank you for your service- especially for those who have been with us for so many, many years,” the President stated.

“And to those who have been promoted, you deserve it because I know you have served and given your best shot after many years of stay in the position you are in,” she added.

Dr. Generalao also reminded the community members, especially the newly hired members, that government service is a call of time. She said that USeP, as a highly esteemed institution must render a government service with compassion- with a heart that truly serves its main clients- the student body- and further noting that the USePians deserve to be served better.

“Live by the Core Values of the University: USeP CARES- Collaboration, Accountability, Resilience, Excellence, and Service-oriented,” she said.

Moreover, Dr. Generalao also wished the members of the community to love the University- stating that USeP has a lot to offer in return for their service. She recalled that the University has been her home ever since- referring USeP as her ‘first and last’ employer in her 43 years of service in the government.

In her closing statement, she said, “Every time you recite the [Panunumpa ng] Lingkod-Bayan, that speaks all of it (referring to what the people of the country is expecting from them as government service providers). I hope you learn it by heart.”

The Ceremonial Oath taking was organized by the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD).
