USeP, DA RFO XI ink MOU for Davao AFRREDN


The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) has formalized a partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) – Regional Field Office 11 through a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing the Davao Agriculture and Fisheries Resources Research and Extension for Development Network (Davao AFRREDN).

The official signing ceremony took place on April 8, 2025, at the World Palace Business Center in Matina, Davao City. USeP was represented by Dr. Roger C. Montepio, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (RDE), and Dr. Merlina H. Juruena, Director of Research and Development Division.

This collaborative agreement is designed to strengthen partnerships and enhance cooperation among involved entities. It aims to harmonize Research for Development and Extension programs and services while ensuring efficient management and coordination of project activities to achieve the anticipated outcomes.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Davao Region, including Davao de Oro State College, Davao del Sur State College, Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology, Davao del Norte State College, and Davao Oriental State University. These institutions expressed their sincere appreciation for the collaborative efforts underway.

USeP through the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Development and Management, along with the Research and Development and Extension cluster, is enthusiastic about contributing to this unified initiative and is committed to being an active and reliable partner within this network.

Both parties look forward to the successful implementation of the outlined projects.
