On August 27, 2024, the University of Southeastern Philippinesโ€”Malabog Extension Campus (MEC) conducted its General Orientation for New and Continuing Students for AY 2024-2025. This event served as a crucial introduction to University life, helping students to navigate their academic and social journey and to familiarize them with the campus facilities, policies, and resources, as well as introducing them to University officials, faculty and staff.
The general orientation started with a message from University President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr. where he encouraged the students to get adapted to university life, including understanding academic expectations, learning about support services, and developing a sense of community.
Additionally, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva and Dean of the College of Development Management (CDM) Dr. Aristeo C. Salapa helped address concerns about transitioning to university life, such as adjusting to independence and managing time effectively to help the students build a strong foundation for their academic and personal growth.
Chairman of Barangay Malabog, Davao City, Hon. Jessie Arreja also inspired the students to pursue their dreams and offered a message of encouragement.
Furthermore, the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) highlighted the student welfare, development activities, and the Code of Conduct, emphasizing the institution’s dedication to their well-being and academic success.
