The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) held a heartfelt Exit Conference on July 18, 2025, for Mr. Hodei Jimenez-Sanchez, a global intern from Spain who completed a six-month internship from January 20 to July 20, 2025. His stay was marked by active involvement in team-teaching Physical Education and Spanish language classes, significantly enriching the academic experience of students and fostering intercultural understanding within the university.
Beyond traditional classrooms, Mr. Jimenez-Sanchez visited the USeP College of Education Behind Bars and the USeP-Malabog Extension Campus, where he was exposed to alternative and community-based education settings. These experiences deepened his appreciation for inclusive education and showcased USePโ€™s commitment to transformative learning even in underserved communities. He also participated in the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Games 2025, further immersing himself in the local culture and student life.
The Exit Conference was attended by University President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr., along with key University officials and faculty members such as Dr. Adora P. Zerrudo, Director of the International Affairs Division; Dr. Reynaldo M. Nogodula, International Affairs Officer; Dr. Raquel D. Almasa, Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Benjie Q. Badon, Program Head of the Bachelor of Physical Education; Dr. Susan Vicente D. Villarente, Program Head of the Bachelor of Special Needs Education; Ms. Gresiel E. Ferrando, Program Head of the Bachelor of Library and Information Science; and Dr. Ava Sheldin T. Guerrero, Coordinator for Dance Arts, OSAS Cultural Affairs Unit. They shared heartfelt messages, recognizing Mr. Jimenez-Sanchezโ€™s contributions to USePโ€™s internationalization efforts.
As he returns to Spain, Mr. Jimenez-Sanchez leaves behind a legacy of collaboration, service, and global engagement. His journey at USeP stands as a testament to the power of international partnerships and the profound impact of education that transcends borders.
