The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) joins the roster of recognized institutions at the National Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Summit and Recognition 2025, held on July 21, 2025 at The Bellevue Manila, Muntinlupa City.
The summit brought together tourism champions and academic partners nationwide to honor organizations whose support strengthens the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence. The Department of Tourism (DOT) XI emerged as the No. 1 region in the Philippines with the highest number of trained FBSE participants in 2024, with 29 outstanding tourism enterprises and academic institutions recognized for their commitment.
USeP was honored in grateful acknowledgement of its support and commitment to train tourism and hospitality students under the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Program in 2024. The University’s embodiment of Filipino core values of hospitality, warmth, and service excellence continues to inspire future tourism and hospitality professionals to champion Filipino hospitality worldwide.
On behalf of the University, the award was received by Dr. Suzette C. Quico, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) Faculty and USeP’s DOT FBSE In-house Trainer, during the awarding ceremony. The recognition was later formally presented to University President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr. on July 30, 2025, with the College of Business Administration (CBA) Team led by CBA Dean Dr. Edeliza S. Gonzales, together with CBA Associate Dean Dr. Arggie Roy G. Busalla, BSHM Program Head Dr. Ma. Joy G. Soriano; CBA PAD Coordinator Dr. Elisa Braganza; and Dr. Quico.
For Pres. Gabales, this recognition affirms USeP’s commitment to nurturing future-ready professionals who embody the true essence of Filipino hospitality. He further emphasized that moving forward, even USeP personnel may also undergo training under the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Program to elevate the University’s services and ensure that its stakeholders and clientele experience the highest standard of care.
“Through these efforts, USeP is not only producing globally competitive graduates but is also contributing to the growth of the booming hospitality industry in the city and the region,” he said. “This milestone strengthens our resolve to make USeP a leading partner in advancing service excellence, not just within the academe but also in support of Davao’s dynamic tourism and hospitality landscape.”
