USeP and RBI Inc. collaborates for the Brailleiance


The USeP-KTTD team headed by Engr. Filmann T. Simpao together with Dr. Philip B. Despares and Mr. Rolen A. Bocog visits the office of Resources for the Blind Inc. (RBI) at Quezon City, Metro Manila. This signifies the growing interest in collaboration and commercialization between parties for the University’s Brailleiance, a modified braille instrument.

During the exploratory meeting, Ms. Yolanda Quijano and Ms. Amy Mojica, Ms. Mayette Regala, and the RBI Manila team showed enthusiasm with the presentation of the University’s technology, its technical details and siginificance for the visually-impared/blind people. Through RBI’s next trainings, the technology will be further validated pressing ahead. This demonstrates the effectiveness and practical operation of the technology, enabling the transition from an innovative idea to to real implementation and commercialization.

The Resources for the Blind Inc. is a non-government Christian organization serving blind people all over the Philippines since 1988. They devoted theirselves to removing the obstacles and providing the services, trainings, materials, and equipment needed in order for them to reach their fullest potential in life.
