The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) Obrero and Tagum-Mabini Campuses have been recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for their exceptional commitment to teacher education through the Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE) Awards, presented during a formal ceremony on April 2, 2025, at the Manila Hotel in Manila.
This award recognizes USeP’s consistent commitment to upholding the highest standards in ensuring the quality of pre-service teacher education programs, adhering to CHED minimum standards, achieving program accreditation, and demonstrating excellent performance in the Board of Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT). By consistently meeting these standards, the University reaffirms its dedication to producing competent, highly skilled, and globally competitive educators.
USeP ranks among the Top 7.7% (120 out of 1,553) of Teacher Education Institutions nationwide recognized with EQUATE Awards. Additionally, it is part of 3.6% of institutions that have earned Dual Awards for excellence in both Elementary and Secondary Education—a manifestation of the University’s commitment to academic quality and teacher education excellence.
Receiving the awards were USeP President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr., College of Education Associate Dean Abigail A. Navales, and Dr. Rosendo R. Meriwan, representing the College of Teacher Education and Technology.
