The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to innovation and intellectual property excellence. On April 10, 2025, USeP proudly received a Platinum Award from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) during the prestigious Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) President’s Summit and General Assembly held at the Sequoia Hotel in Parañaque City. This marks a back-to-back Platinum Award achievement, as USeP was similarly honored last year.
This remarkable milestone is a testament to USeP’s diligent efforts in intellectual property protection. The University successfully fulfilled stringent requirements by filing at least ten (10) trademark applications, showcasing its dedication to innovation and the safeguarding of intellectual assets. This accomplishment not only highlights USeP’s role as a leader in intellectual property management but also underscores its significant contributions to the innovation ecosystem.
The awards were received by Dr. Roger C. Montepio, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension (RDE), and Engr. Michael V. Machica, ITSO Manager. Their leadership and dedication have been instrumental in fostering a culture of creativity and innovation within the University.
This recognition reflects the collaborative efforts of the entire USeP community in promoting research, technology transfer, and intellectual property awareness. It serves as an inspiration for other institutions to prioritize intellectual property management as a cornerstone of innovation and progress.
Congratulations to USeP for this outstanding milestone! This achievement not only brings pride to the University but also reinforces its position as a trailblazer in intellectual property and innovation.
