USeP-CGB conducts barangay Medical Mission


The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP)-College of Governance and Business (CGB) conducted a Medical Mission at its adopted community, Barangay Centro, San Juan, Agdao in Davao City, on May 6, 2018. The activity is part of its Health and Sanitation Project, the outreach component of the College’s extension program called Alalay sa BarangayProgram (ABP), which was delivered in partnership with the USeP CGB Alumni Association, Inc. and the CGB Graduate School – Supreme Student Council (SSC).

The medical team was composed of pediatricians from Davao Doctors’ Hospital (Dr. Colline Badoy) and Davao Medical School Foundation Hospital (Dr. Crystal Pavino, Dr. Marie Singanon, and Dr. Nicole Serina), and CGB graduate students/nurses, namely Rizza Francisco, Mark Angelo Gregana, Vimar Conmigo, and Gil Dureza. Barangay health workers also assisted the medical team.

Basic medical services were administered to at least 100 children from 2-12 years of age. Aside from medical check-up, basic medicines and vitamins, as well as hygiene kits and food packs, were provided to the children-beneficiaries.

The activity, undertaken in line with CGB’s Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Brgy. Centro, gathered barangay functionaries including Brgy. Kagawad Constantino Dano; Dr. Danilo Pacoy, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension; Dr. Mervin Gascon, Extension Division Director; Dr. Edeliza Gonzales, CGB Dean; and, Dr. Rosfe Corlae Badoy, College Extension Head and ABP Program Leader. Dr. Antonio M. Faunillan, Jr., Dr. Daisy Besing, and Mr. Karl Campos represented the CGB Alumni Association.  Present for the SSC were Ms. Shiela Dae Nemenzo, Mr. Niño Ben Salarda, and Nurse Conmigo, together with their Adviser, Ms. Ma. Joy Soriano. Other CGB faculty members who participated in the medical mission include Dr. Roby Pagong, Ms. Helen Grace Legorio, and Mr. Nash Reginio. (USeP PR/RCDB)
