Ambassador Rafael Harpaz from the Embassy of Israel in Manila paid a courtesy visit to University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) President, Dr. Lourdes C. Generalao, on November 29, 2018.
Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Genna Carmelo, Director of the Office of Public and International Affairs (OPIA), joined Dr. Generalao in welcoming the Embassy of Israel officials.
Through the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP), USeP has forged linkages with the Embassy for the Agrostudies internship program in Israel. Last September, the first batch of selected Bachelor of Science in Agriculture students from the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences of USeP Tagum-Mabini Campus journeyed to Israel to participate in the 11-month internship program.
During the brief meeting, the Ambassador of Israel to the Philippines, together with his wife, Ms. Shulamit Harpaz, and Consul Yafit Katzav, was also introduced to the MASHAV scholars in Davao City: Ms. Mary Jane Donesa from the Department of Education, Mr. Mier Lumain from Rivolis Plastro Ltd., and Ms. Luzviminda Eblamo from Davao City Cooperative Development Office.
