USeP wins in DOST-RICE


University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) through Knowledge and Technology Transfer Division (KTTD) won in all categories in the recently concluded Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Invention Contest and Exhibit (RICE) held on October 28-30, 2019 at SMX Convention Center, Lanang, Davao City.

For Outstanding Industrial Design Category, Ms. Sarah Mae Villoria of College of Teacher Education and Technology (CTET) is the regional winner with her entry Modified Braille Instrument.

For the category, Likha Award Most Outstanding Research and Development, the regional winners are Engr. Filmann Simpao of College of Engineering (CE), Mr. King Francis Genilla, Mr. Brianne Bingil, and Mr. Ronel Yap of High Meridian Technologies (HMT) with their entry UH1 Shofar: Mass Notification System for Local Disasters.

Dr. Roger Montepio, Ryan Abenoja and Kevin Joseph of College of Agriculture and Related Sciences (CARS) garnered the place First Runner-up for their entry Piticao: Cacao Sleever under Outstanding Utility Model Category.

Regional winners are qualified for the National Invention Contest and Exhibit (NICE) in 2020.
