USeP rules Mindanao Wide IT Olympiad 2020


The University of Southeastern Philippines–College of Information and Computing (USeP-CIC) emerged victorious in the recently concluded Mindanao Wide IT Olympiad held at Ateneo De Davao University last February 11, 2020.

The competition, organized by the Philippine Society of I.T. Educators XI and Council of Deans in IT Education, was open to all colleges and universities of Region XI and was participated by 17 schools. The activity is conducted annually with a goal of providing an avenue for students to showcase their skills in different IT-related events. Students competed in both individual and group categories which include programming, digital drawing, quiz bowl, infographics, motion graphics, and IT pitching.

Lotis May Prado and Nico Mangasar clinched their way to the top and were hailed as champions in the quiz bowl competition while Brylle James Sanoy bagged the championship prize for on-the-spot infographic poster making. Furthermore, John Rico Masadas, Anabel Casinas, and Donald Juan landed 2nd place in the IT pitching competition. Ciandryl Dayaganon stood out against other schools and was declared champion for motion graphics competition along with James Aaron Jadloc who placed 3rd in the same competition.

The CIC faculty and staff are proud and humbled as this victory has proven the quality of education that USeP offers in both academic and non-academic aspects.
