Prof. Sajed S. Ingilan bags award at LangKIT 2020


Associate Professor Sajed S. Ingilan of USeP Language Department won the Best Presenter award at the 5th National Conference on Language, Kultura and the Integration of Technology (LangKIT 2020) at the Mindanao State University-Marawi City on February 28-29, 2020.

Assoc. Prof. Ingilan, a PhD candidate at UP Diliman, presented his paper on language and identity of the Dabawenyos as manifested in the linguistic landscape of the two major streets in Davao City. His study on linguistic landscape could serve as a teaching resource where learners develop awareness of the role that different languages play in the construction of identity.

Dr. Alwin C. Aguirre, Associate Dean for Research, Creative Work and Publication of the University of the Philippines College of Arts and Letters, gave the keynote address while Dr. Aileen Salonga and Prof. Monica Santos, both from UP Diliman, led the panel discussion on Language, Image, Body: Critical Discourse Approaches to Social and Cultural Analysis.

Hosted by MSU-Marawi and co-sponsored by the UP College of Arts and Letters and College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, Langkit 2020 is envisioned to be the avenue for the researchers of today to be abreast with recent issues and developments in language, culture, and integration of technology.
