USeP conducts webinar on Digital Certificates with DICT

The University of Southeastern Philippines conducted a webinar on Digital Certificates with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Mindanao Cluster 3 via Zoom.

Pursuant to the Republic Act No. 8792 or the Electronic Commerce Act of 2020, the University is in one with the DICT in its mandate of developing trust in the government by ensuring secure and reliable online transactions. The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) also directed all government agencies to avail of and recognize the use of the DICT’s Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) service to secure online transactions and communications.

Dr. Lourdes Generalao, the University President, expressed her gratitude toward the DICT personnel and to the organizers during her opening remarks. Dr. Generalao added that as the University Administration vows to uphold high standards in its external and internal transactions, a webinar on Digital Certificates is very significant in securing confidentiality, authenticity and integrity of the University’s records and documents, especially in the New Normal.

Engr. Benjamin Valencia, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Registration Authority Officer of DICT Mindanao Cluster 3, served as the resource speaker of the event.
