The University of Southeastern Philippines- Innovation and Technology Support Office (USeP-ITSO) received a Gold Award for providing IP services such as Intellectual Property (IP) awareness and capacity-building activities, patent search, and patent drafting to internal and external clients, and filed at least six (6) patents in 2022 during the ITSO Presidents’ Summit on March 28, 2023, at Sequoia Hotel, Paranaque City, Manila.
University President, Dr. Lourdes C. Generalao, and USeP-ITSO* Manager, Engr. Filmann T. Simpao received the said award.
The Presidents’ Summit is an annual event that gathers professionals, experts, and leaders to discuss emerging technologies, trends, and best practices. Bearing the theme, “ITSO: Hub and Generator of Future-Ready Innovations”, the Summit aims to recognize and award the ITSO members who have purposefully fulfilled the ITSO 2.0 Clustering targets for 2022.
Moreover, the summit highlighted new opportunities for ITSOs to enhance their IP management and technology transfer operations for 2023.
This recognition solidifies the position of USeP as a leading university in the Philippines for innovation and technology transfer; dedicated to enhancing scientific research and leveraging technology to enhance the quality of life for Filipinos, thus transforming communities in the ASEAN and beyond.
