Gabales, DBM Chief talk about USeP PAPs, OGPinas during a courtesy call


University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr. warmly welcomed Department of Budget Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman during a courtesy call on November 23, 2023, at Acacia Hotel, Davao City.

Also present during the meeting were DBM Undersecretary Wilford Will L. Wong, DBM Assistant Secretary Rolando U. Toledo, DBM XI Regional Director Gary R. Martel, DBM XI Assistant Regional Director Antonio M. Faunillan Jr., USeP Vice President for Administration Dr. Maria Luisa B. Faunillan, and USeP Vice President for Research, Development and Extension Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva.

During the meeting, Dr. Gabales expressed his gratitude to the DBM Chief for her continued support of the University’s goals. He also emphasized the University’s commitment to the Open Government Partnership (OGPinas) thrust to attain transparency, accountability, and participation. Moreover, he cited the University’s contributions to society, such as the College Education Behind Bars (CEBB) program; the Hospital-bound Educational Program for children with cancer at Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) House of Hope; the USeP-Pamulaan Center for Indigenous Peoples Education; and various research and extension programs and partnerships, among others.

Dr. Gabales added his administration’s plan to enhance the quality of public service to the University’s stakeholders through additional Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) and the completion of the institution’s infrastructure projects. These endeavors are crucial in realizing USeP’s vision, mission, and goals.

Despite limited funds, Dr. Gabales reaffirmed the University’s commitment to robust collaboration and partnership with DBM in pushing and advocating for open government and prudent management of the government’s fiscal resources.
