USeP Top Management pays courtesy visit to DCCCII


As the University aims to contribute to inclusive growth and sustainable development, the members of the USeP Top Management (TM) paid a courtesy visit to the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) on April 8, 2024, in a bid to strengthen its partnership with the industry sector.

During the visit, the USeP TM, led by the University President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr., was warmly welcomed by DCCCII President Ms. Belinda L. Torres, and its officials at their office along J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City. The visit aimed to formally introduce the new members of USeP TM and explore potential avenues for partnership in the areas of instruction, production, and research.

The meeting highlighted the need for both academe and industry to work together in developing human capital. In the meeting, Dr. Gabales underscored the importance of forging stronger ties between the University and the industry sector. He emphasized the necessity of aligning USeP’s program offerings with the evolving needs and demands of the industry. Such alignment is crucial to ensure that graduates are equipped with the relevant skills and knowledge required to thrive in their respective fields.

Joining the University President during the visit were Vice President for Administration, Dr. Maria Luisa B. Faunillan; Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva; Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Tamara Cher R. Mercado; Vice President for Research, Development and Extension, Dr. Roger C. Montepio. Also in attendance were Private Sector Representative and USeP Board of Regents member, Mr. Antonio T. Dela Cruz; and Resource Management Division Director, Dr. John Mark S. Francisco.

Following the fruitful discussions, both parties expressed their commitment to collaboration and agreed to establish working groups to explore specific areas of partnership in more detail.
