The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) officially launched its National Women’s Month celebration on March 3, 2025, across all campuses. This year’s observance carries the subtheme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” emphasizing the role of women in shaping a progressive nation.
The opening program gathered University officials, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and students to mark the start of a month-long series of activities aimed at promoting gender equality and women empowerment. USeP President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr. opened the ceremony, emphasizing the University’s commitment to an inclusive academic environment that upholds the rights and contributions of women in all fields.
Following the regular flag ceremony, the program commenced with an introduction to Women’s Month and a special acknowledgment of the University’s women personnel and students. Setting an inspiring tone for the celebration, Mr. Henli Harvey Asueros serenaded the audience with a heartfelt rendition of Beautiful in My Eyes.
Adding depth to the program, Mr. Mark Anthony G. Arellano delivered a moving poem, “Tinig ng Kababaihan: Tanglaw ng Pagbabago, Sinag ng Kinabukasan,” celebrating the strength and resilience of women in society. This was followed by a vibrant Sayaw Handog sa Kababaihan, an energetic dance performance by Sahaya Dance Collective dedicated to all women.
Meanwhile, USeP’s other campuses also organized their own kickoff programs, featuring a variety of activities and performances that highlighted women’s achievements and contributions to society. These initiatives further reinforced the University’s collective commitment to gender advocacy and inclusivity.
Through its steadfast commitment to gender advocacy, USeP continues to champion inclusivity and equity, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal No. 5: Gender Equality.
