[𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗗] The University of Southeastern Philippines – College of Development (USeP-CDM) and Mindanao Center for Policy Studies (MCPS) successfully held a seminar titled “The Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Research and Education” on October 11, 2024. This event aimed to introduce faculty members, identified staff, and students to the potential of AI in enhancing research processes and teaching methods.
The seminar took place at the CDM Audio-Visual Room for the faculty and staff, while students participated via Zoom. The program commenced with opening remarks from Dr. Aristeo C. Salapa, College Dean, and Dr. Joeteddy B. Bugarin, Research Center Manager, who also provided the rationale for the event.
Mr. Raffy G. Alo, speaker of the said training featured insightful discussions on key topics including Ethical Issues in Using AI for Research and Education, Application of AI in Research Stages and Innovative Applications of AI in Teaching.
The seminar also provided interactive activities that allowed participants to apply AI-related concepts in real-world scenarios, making the event not only educational but also engaging. Closing remarks were delivered by Dr. Bugarin, emphasizing the importance of staying updated with technological advancements, particularly AI, which is rapidly reshaping the landscape of education and research.
This event is part of USeP’s continuous efforts to transform the University into a premier research institution, empowering educators and researchers with innovative tools like AI to address contemporary challenges in academia.
