The Tagum City Public Education and Employment Services Office (PEESO) recently organized an activity aimed at equipping its members with the essential skills and knowledge required for conducting monitoring and evaluation activities proficiently. Consequently, they have sought guidance from the Doctor of Education (EdD) program at the College of Teacher Education and Technology (CTET) to enhance their program monitoring and evaluation competencies, ensuring alignment with their specific needs.
In response to this request, the CTET Extension Office conducted a training session titled “Training on Monitoring and Evaluation Approaches for Livelihood Kabuhayan Projects.” This session took place on September 14, 2023, at the Tagum City Hall, and it received generous funding from the Tagum City Public Education and Employment Services Office (PEESO).
This initiative gained active participation from PEESO personnel; along with esteemed members of the CTET faculty dedicated to the Doctor of Education (Ed.D) program. Mr. Rizalino O. Dela Torre, Jr., the College Extension Head, graced the occasion with his presence.
Dr. Gilbert A. Importante, a college faculty member and distinguished authority in the field, adeptly assumed the role of resource speaker. He delved into the pivotal role of monitoring and evaluation, shedding light on their profound significance in aligning program objectives with intended outcomes. Through meticulous presentation and lecture of data and feedback collected during these processes, the participants learned to decipher the factors contributing to both the success and shortfall of their goals. Through these insights, they are now better equipped to make informed decisions, enhance program effectiveness, and adapt as needed.
In response to this enlightening session, the City of Tagum, particularly its Training Division, recognized the paramount importance of this collaborative effort. It promises to foster growth and excellence in program management and evaluation within the City of Tagum.
