November 28, 2024— To springboard onto improving journal publication, Benguet State University visited the University of Southeastern Philippines’ (USeP) Publication Unit to gain insights into the best practices of its research journal, the Southeastern Philippines Journal of Research and Development (SPJRD). The visit aimed to learn the best practices for Scopus indexing and increase journal citations.
Benguet’s Mountain Journal of Science and Interdisciplinary Research (MJSIR) team arrived at USeP to acquire strategies for preparing the journal for its pursuit in Scopus indexing. MJSIR has aimed to elevate its current standing in the research community, and its starting point is learning about the experiences of SPJRD’s Editorial Team.
Dr. Cheryll C. Launio, the MJSIR Editor-in-Chief, represented their academic institution during the visit. Alongside her were Mr. Noel A. Lenguaje, Ms. Christina P. Galagal, Ms. Aizel Gay S. Lazo, and Ms. Riaflor Rebolledo, their journal’s editorial staff, who supports the operations in publication processes.
Meanwhile, the SPJRD Editorial Board was led by Editor-in-Chief Sajed S. Ingilan, who shared the background and best practices of USeP’s journal that helped it to what it has advanced today. EIC Ingilan further unveiled some points that would benefit MJSIR in strengthening its journal integrity, impact, and visibility.
Both academic journal chiefs and representatives held an excellent discourse, sharing similar ideals for their academic journals. This goal is to be widely known and harbor a strong reputation by indexing in the globally acknowledged abstracting and indexing database of Scopus.
