[𝙍𝙀𝘾𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙇𝙔 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝘾𝙇𝙐𝘿𝙀𝘿] USeP explores collaborative partnerships with Indonesian Consulate and UMSU


The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) convened a collaborative meeting with representatives from Universitas Muhammadiah Sumatera Utara (UMSU). The Indonesian Consulate was represented by Ms. Yanti Silalahi, Consul of Information, Social, and Cultural Affairs, and Mr. Daulat Siregar, M.Pd., M.Si., Principal of the Sekolah Indonesia Davao. The UMSU delegation was led by Dr. Hj. Syamsuyurnita, M.Pd, Dean of the Education Faculty, and Dr. Hj. Dewi Kesuma Nasution, M.IIum, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, on September 8, 2023, at the office of the Indonesian Consulate, Davao City, Philippines.

The primary purpose of this meeting was to enhance the partnership between USeP, the Indonesian Consulate and the UMSU. The agenda also included the inaugural discussions between USeP and UMSU, exploring potential areas of collaboration.

During the meeting, both institutions proposed prospective partnerships in the domains of instruction, research, and extension. These plans encompassed a cultural exchange workshop program between Indonesia and Mindanao, community development initiatives aimed at Indonesian citizens in Mindanao, and a request for expert assistance in conducting peer reviews of scholarly publications managed by USeP.

The meeting was spearheaded by Assoc. Prof. Sajed S. Ingilan, ILCA Director, and Mr. Francis N. Reginio, Deputy Director for Publication Unit. Key participants included Dr. Angelo Lenard Yu, Literature Program Head and Ms. Noreena Dominique F. Apolinar, CAS International Affairs Coordinator. The Publication Unit Staff, Mr. Kenneth Rey Marces and Ms. Hannah Mae Lolong, provided valuable assistance throughout the event.
