USeP’s IPMU receives another milestone for its IP!

The University of Southeastern Philippines’ Intellectual Property Management Unit (IPMU) receives another remarkable development for its Intellectual Property (IP) applications. The acceptance of certificates of 6 Utility Model and 1 Patent represented by Engr. Filmann T. Simpao, KTTD Director and Deputy officer of IPMU, and Dr. Philip B. Despares, who is currently leading the Technology Transfer Unit (TTU) at the IPOPHL office, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Such certification is vital for an inventor or business as proof of ownership when pursuing commercialization, enforcing rights over a patent, UM, or ID, and gaining a competitive edge.

The IPOPHL is a government agency mandated to administer and implement state policies on intellectual property (IP) to strengthen the country’s IP rights. With the aim of a creative and innovative country, IPOPHL implemented a clustering and reward system for its academic partners’ network to push to go beyond publishing and shift to creating new products.
