[𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙙] On May 23, 2024, the Department of Science and Technology Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST PCHRD) held a focus group discussion (FGD) on Health Research and Development Information Network (HERDIN) system development at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) Obrero Campus.
The activity focused on the overall experience of public users of HERDIN, an online integrated research information system for Philippine health research, while conducting research tasks such as searching for and obtaining full-text materials. The focus group examined ways to improve the HERDIN website’s features and functionality.
The program opened with remarks from the University President, Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr., followed by overviews of DOST-PCHRD and HERDIN from Ms. Ullyann C. Garcia and Ms. Maria Violeta G. Casile. Participants took part in interactive sessions including questions and answers, focus group discussions, and presentations.
The session concluded with discussions about future collaboration with Dr. Victoria P. Guillano, Dean of the School of Medicine, expressing an interest in partnering with HERDIN on joint research initiatives, resource integration, and training programs.
