The University of Southeastern Philippines – School of Medicine (USeP – SoM) and the Department of Health – Center for Health Development Regional Office 10 collaborated to organize the “Training of Trainers in Family Planning Competency-Based Training Level 1” on June 26–28 in Cagayan de Oro City. The purpose of this three-day training is to provide participants with knowledge and skills to effectively roll-out the family planning program in their local communities.
Under the direction of Dr. Amelia Anastasia Ang, the training was carried out effectively, meeting all the goals and objectives of the program.
The three-day program covers fundamental topics in family planning through a combination of didactics and hands-on skill demonstrations. Sessions highlight the significance of adapting educational strategies to adult learners and making sure that training programs are skill-focused and applicable in real-world settings. Dr. Ang demonstrated a variety of family planning strategies, allowing the attendees to develop their proficiency.
By tackling public health issues, this partnership between USeP SoM and DOH CHD in Region 10 advances the goal of universal health care. The benefits of this training go beyond the event since the newly equipped trainers are ready to make significant impacts upon their return to their communities.
