Despite the disruptions due to the earthquake, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) successfully held the orientation for the part-time faculty teaching the general education courses, held at the Training Room, University Dormitory, last February 29, 2024.
General Education Department Head Associate Professor Luden L. Baterina explained the University’s Academic Policies. The Department Head emphasized explaining the academic policies to the students. Ms. Noreena Dominique F. Apolinar, CAS Quality Assurance Coordinator, presented the pertinent instruction documents to comply with at the end of the semester. The representatives of the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD) and Finance Division (FD) were also present at the said program.
Concerns related to the academics, notice of engagement, and payroll process were raised by the part-time faculty as the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva, who was also present in the said program, answered the queries.
Conducting the orientation program for part-time faculty helps them feel comfortable in their new surroundings and prepares them to begin their role as instructors confidently. Moreover, these are instrumental in cultivating the Institution’s vision, mission, and core values. It sets the stage for their professional growth and effectiveness in the classroom.
