
The College of Education (CEd) showcased its milestones as Center of Excellence (COE) in the region during the Webinar-Workshop for COEs and CODs in Teacher Education entitled βPandayan sa Kahusayan: COEs and CODs Moving Forward Towards the New Normalβ last February 17, 2021 via Zoom platform.
The activity, which was attended by more than 600 participants from various TEIs in the country, was facilitated and organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Office of the Oversight Commissioner for Teacher Education through the Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD) and the Technical Panel for Teacher Education. The activity provided perspectives on how the roles of COEs and CODs evolved given the impact of the pandemic. It tackled issues as well in the identification of the contributions of the COEs and CODs in reconfiguring Philippine Education. The participants were also informed about the current guidelines and initiatives of COEs and CODs.
CEd was among the six Teacher Education Institution (TEI) chosen to present its milestones for its commendatory performance in the area of instruction, research, extension, and quality assurance. These parameters are the existing criteria for designating COEs and CODs in Teacher Education across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The presentation included narratives of growth of COEs for the period of 2016 up to the present.
